In today's instalment of weird news, some Walking Dead merchandise has come under fire for 'racism' after a customer visiting a US bank spotted the "offensive" figurine.

The figure in question is a Funko collectible from the Mystery Minis series and depicts one of Michonne's "pet walkers" from the hit drama.

Stacey Smith shared a public status on Facebook about her visit to a bank in North Carolina earlier this week, saying that she was distracted by an employee's doll.

Describing the figure as "a black doll with a noose around its neck and hands tied behind its back", Smith recalled how she asked the representative what the doll 'meant'.

"Right then I walked out of his office and went straight to the receptionist and asked for his boss!" she wrote, after admitting she found the figure "very offensive".

According to ABC11, the bank in question has responded to Smith's complaints and confirmed they had taken "immediate steps to address this personnel matter".

"[We pride ourselves] on the fair and equitable treatment it provides its members and takes its members' privacy seriously. Yesterday, the actions of one of our employees fell far short of our expectations," a statement reportedly read.

In slightly lighter Walking Dead news, a new trio of wines based on the show's most popular characters has been released – including one dedicated to Michonne.

Michonne is a 2016 Spanish Tempranillo that will "slice you to your very core with its focused acidity and pure, concentrated flavors of cherry and plum".

Sounds refreshing.

The Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and on FOX and NOW TV in the UK.
