Could we see a more foul-mouthed Negan in The Walking Dead season eight?

Fans of the comics will point out that one of the more noticeable differences between the TV and the comics versions of the villain is that, in the source material, he drops a hell of a lot more F-bombs.

But traditionally, AMC has prohibited TV shows from using the swear.

Until now.

Spin-off series Fear the Walking Dead actually used the F-bomb in its most recent episode, uttered by Nick. It turns out that the rules surrounding the usage of the word "f**k" have changed slightly.

"You get a specific number of curse words you can say, and then there's a list of what you can and can't do," Fear the Walking Dead showrunner Dave Erickson explained to ComicBook.com.

"I think it was our script coordinator who told me there was an email had come up. There had been a memo saying we could now say 'f**k' twice over the course of an entire season.

"I don't know at what point AMC corporate decided to allow it, but they did."

Judging by what Erickson said, there appear to be strict dos and don'ts in regard to how the F-bomb can be used – so maybe it won't be Negan using up the quota for the season.

While we wait to see how this turns out, think about this: how awesome would this scene (from the season four finale) have been had it aired uncensored during broadcast?

The Walking Dead launches its eighth season on October 22 on AMC in the US. It will air on FOX in the UK.
