Walking Dead gets the Friends opening credits treatment

From Digital Spy

Rick's life is owned by Negan right now on The Walking Dead - so it's safe to say it hasn't been his day, his week, his month, or even his year.

But at least he can enjoy these amazing fan-made opening credits for the show, done in the style of popular sitcom Friends.

It's rather brilliant on multiple levels.

Firstly, the theme tune thematically fits The Walking Dead - what makes Rick's group all the stronger is their love and loyalty for each other. We've seen it time and time again. "I'll be there for you" indeed.

Then, the edit makes sure to include some especially gory scenes - Glenn and Abraham meeting Lucille, Spencer's guts, Carl's eye - and it's comically dark when matched with the cheery song in the background.

As one Reddit user also pointed out, The Walking Dead has its own Chandler, in the form of Carl actor Chandler Riggs.

The latest episode saw Rick Grimes forming an awkward alliance with a new junkyard group in the planned war against Negan and his Saviors.

Fans have been speculating that the junkyard group will become the Whisperers, but Pollyanna McIntosh - who plays the group's leader Jadis - poured cold water on that theory.

"I don't know anything at all," she said. "All I heard is fan rumours. As far as talking to producers or anyone on the show, it's never come up."

The Walking Dead continues next Sunday (February 26) on AMC in the US, and on Monday (February 27) on FOX in the UK.
