The Walking Dead shook things up in a huge way last year when it killed off fan favourite character Carl Grimes in a shocking twist.

No-one could believe it, since Carl lived on in the comics and had plenty of storylines to explore.

The show has worked around the issue by giving Carl's storylines to the character Henry, who is having a thing with new character Lydia in the show – which Carl did in the source material.

Actor Chandler Riggs isn't bothered about it though, and says that he and Henry's actor Matt Lintz are friends.

Speaking to TooFab, Riggs said: "I know Matt personally. I've known him because his older sister played Sophia. I’m pretty sure his whole family was on the show at some point.

"I've known all of them for a very long time. It's super cool seeing someone I know step into the shoes that Carl, the path that Carl was supposed to take. It's pretty cool."

The actor has previously said that he has given some "lazy" performances over the years, and that the show should have recast him rather than kill the character off – although his father was less than pleased with how the show treated him.

Meanwhile, Chandler landed a new role on the ABC show A Million Little Things.

The Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and on FOX in the UK. You can also catch up on the show via NOW TV.
