Yahoo News Walking Dead's Daryl Dixon boss teases Carol's role in season 2

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon boss David Zabel has teased Melissa McBride’s role as Carol Peletier in the upcoming second season for the spin-off.
McBride reprised her role as Carol in the finale of the first season, with producers subsequently confirming that the character would have a main role in the follow-up season.
The episode ended with Carol vowing to find Daryl as he travelled across France, and Zabel has now revealed how the surprising turn of events will impact future instalments of the series.

“She felt compelled to go out looking for Daryl, which we will learn more about as we get deeper into the story,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “The presumption was made that he was coming back home, and then he never came back home, so we can read into that.
“So now she's worried about him, and the radio call [in episode five] gave her a little bit of a clue as to how to maybe track him down. There's also another clue - this moment in the radio call where she talks about something or someone having come back.
“The impression [the audience] and Daryl gets is that something's a little off for her. That's going to function into the story for Carol in season two… she has a great dual track that we're setting her off on and we've shot some of that already, and it's going to be fantastic when it's all together.”

McBride, who was originally meant to have a larger role in the first season, expressed delight at her main role for the second season, saying: “I’ve known there was much more to be told of Carol’s story.
“I’m so excited to continue Carol’s journey here. This team of storytellers have done amazing work to land these two established characters in an entirely new world to them, and I’m loving the discoveries!”
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon airs on AMC in the US. A UK broadcaster has yet to be announced.
