If you thought The Walking Dead's Lennie James deserved a little more screen time this season, then you're in luck: because he'll be getting A LOT of airtime in a new thriller over on Sky Atlantic.

Gone, written and created by Lennie himself, follows the story of Nelson Rowe, who must defend himself when accused of a terrible crime he did not commit.

The series will be directed by BAFTA winner Nick Murphy and will also star Doctor Foster's Suranne Jones and Taboo star Stephen Graham - and we can't ruddy wait.

"Everyone knows someone like Nelly," said Lennie.

"He's the fella constantly at the end of the bar. The fella that can't help himself, never really grew up and has wasted who he could have been.

"They are usually the cautionary tale. They are almost never the hero. In Gone, Nelly might just be..."

While Lennie tackles the role of the troubled and charming Nelly, Suranne will play Clare, who shared a 'summer of love' with Nelly 13 years ago.

The series will be set on a south east London housing estate and is described as "the story of a man facing the stark and painful reality that the very worst thing happening to someone he loves could be the best thing that has ever happened to him".

And good news for fans of Sky's drama The Tunnel, which has been renewed for its third and final series.

The Tunnel: Vengeance, starring series regulars Stephen Dillane and Clémence Poésy as Karl and Elise, will be set in Europe amidst hysteria around a refugee crisis.
