A live performance from a Swindon-based brass band will accompany a screening of a Wallace and Gromit short film in the town next month.

Three decades since the UK premiere of Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers, Brunel Brass are preparing to perform the soundtrack to the film, by special arrangement with the film's creator, Aardman Animations.

The event, set to take place on July 13 at 4pm at The Deanery CE Academy, will also feature a programme of contemporary brass band music aiming to suit all tastes.

Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed by Brunel's Rising Stars and Shooting Stars bands with pre-concert entertainment.

Brunel Brass is a registered charity, with all profit from the concert set to fund the band's developmental bands - Brunel Beginners, Rising Stars, Shooting Stars and Brunel Academy.

These groups, rehearsing at the band's purpose-built band hall in Stratton on Saturday mornings, collectively provide musical training and coaching to more than 100 children and young people.

Brunel Brass was established in December 2006 when the tutors and older members of the newly formed Great Western Youth Band decided to create an adult band that could perform at concerts and compete against other brass bands.
