The Warwickshire pub offering 'great quality' Sunday roasts with 'generous sides'

A wholesome but indulgent roast dinner is the vital British staple dish to end your weekend. And within Coventry and Warwickshire, there are many establishments to enjoy a hearty roast, from fine-dining restaurants to traditional country pubs.

There's so much to choose from from set Sunday lunch menus to self-serve carvery stations with all the trimmings. One establishment that offers a place to dine and relax while enjoying a slap-up roast is The Crown at Tiddington.

The venue is described as a 'warm, friendly-friendly pub' in the Warwickshire village of Tiddington, close to Stratford-upon-Avon. Owners Mark and Claire Peggram have been running The Crown for 12 years.

The pub offers a range of beer, lagers, wines, spirits, and soft drinks, plus a large variety of pub classics from traditional Sunday roasts to award-winning mud pies, with vegan and vegetarian options available. Bosses say their locally sourced produce alongside 'quality ales' makes for the 'perfect combination' to enjoy a meal with family and friends.

The Crown has two beer gardens, one at the side and the other at the rear. The rear beer garden includes a children's play area while the lounge bar includes a dart board, pool table, Sky Sports, and jukebox, a 'great recipe for a pub party night', bosses added. The pub is also dog-friendly with a complimentary treat on arrival.

The menu includes traditional, homemade pub classics, suitable for a romantic meal for two or a family evening out, with a selection of specials that rotate each week. The weekly Sunday roast is served from 12pm-4pm from £10.95.

The roast includes a choice of Hereford Beef, Lamb, or Pork, or the Famous Mixed Roast, served with vegetables, cauliflower and leek gratin, roast potatoes, and Yorkshire pudding. Desserts include Honeycomb Cheesecake, Tangy Lemon Tart, Warm Chocolate Brownie, Homemade Apple Crumble, and Trio of Ice Cream.

The pub has a 4-star rating on Tripadvisor, with other ratings including food (4/5), service (4.5/5), value (4/5) and atmosphere (4/5). The eatery also has a 4.3-star rating on Google reviews.

CheshireDes said: "We visited for Sunday lunch which was excellent. The food was of great quality and nicely served. It was so good we visited the following evening and again the food was superb.

"The roast beef on Sunday was delicious with lovely, generous vegetable side dishes. A very traditional, community pub with good parking and a few minute's drive from the town centre."

Susy said: "Had Sunday lunch here with a group, the service was excellent and the staff lovely. They made a delicious gluten-free veggie nut roast, lots of vegetables, including cauliflower cheese, gravy, and a Yorkie."

Michael Chatten added: "A group of eight of us visited on Sunday afternoon for Sunday lunch and a few beers. The staff were excellent very friendly and very efficient. The beer was very nice and the Sunday lunch was excellent(we all agreed was one of the best pub lunches we have had)."
