Chelsea's academy goalkeeper Jamie Cumming was given an unexpected call-up to Antonio Conte's squad for the clash with Manchester United today - with Willian taking it upon himself to show the world the 17-year-old's initiation ceremony on the eve of the match.

Cumming's surprise inclusion in Conte's travelling party was confirmed on Friday night when Willian posted two Instagram stories of the shot-stopper standing up on a chair at the team hotel and singing a song in front of the entire squad.

His call-up comes after first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was ruled out of the Premier League game with United with an ankle injury sustained in training.

The Belgian's absence means Asmir Begovic will start in goal for the Blues, with Eduardo on the bench and 17-year-old Cumming also in the squad.

Although the chance to travel to Manchester with the Chelsea first team for such a huge match would have been warmly welcomed by Cumming - a player who has risen through the club's academy ranks - what would probably have been less welcoming is having to undergo an initiation ceremony.

Willian filmed Cumming, who signed his first professional contract in January, singing in front of a giggling Chelsea squad before the first-team players decided to help the youngster out by joining in with him.
