WATCH: 90-year-old Man Takes Job As Rollercoaster Tester, Has Ride Of His Life

Forget about tending the garden or looking after the grandkids - all the coolest nonogenarians are working as rollercoaster testers.

Well, 90-year-old Dutchman Jan Blees certainly is!

This clip shows Jan, from Beemster in the Netherlands, enjoying - literally -some of the highs and lows of the daily grind.

“I am afraid of heights, just like anyone else,” Jan admits, “But you don’t notice that.”

Jan got the gig after one of his grandsons saw an ad for the position, and the family agreed that grandpa was the best man for the job.

"People think it is a bit peculiar, to see an old man like me,” Jan says. “If they see me waiting in line I often get the question whether I am actually going on.”

His all-time fave rollercoaster is Baron 1898, from Efteling amusement park in the Netherlands. “You get launched, drop over 40 metres, and then ride it backwards,” Jan says.

He adds that you “get used to” riding rollercoasters: “If you have done it once or twice, you will realise it is a piece of cake.

“With that mindset you can enjoy every ride, and that goes for everybody, young and old.“
