This Panda Cub Rolling Down A Hill Will Make Your Day So Much Better

This is the utterly adorable moment a panda cub performs a series of forward rolls and somersaults to get around his enclosure.

Footage taken from the Gengda Wolong Panda Centre in China shows two-year-old Hua Rong running around his enclosure before tumbling along the grass, making full use of the slope in his garden.

Finding his feet: The panda cub has just gained independence form his mother (CEN)

The giant panda has only just gained independence from his mum and is learning to spend time in his private home - performing acrobatics all over the place.

However, now that Hua Rong weighs well over 100 lbs, he will find it more and more taxing to move around, especially as his diet changes from milk to almost exclusively eating bamboo.

Sanctuary: Hua Rong lives on a reserve with some 150 pandas (CEN)

The Wolong National Nature Reserve, where Hua Rong is currently based, was first established in 1963 and covers an area of about 200,000 hectares in the Qionglai Mountains, where there are about 4,000 different species of animal.

The reserve is home to some 150 pandas, which are a first-class state-protected species in China and also classified as endangered on the Red List of Threatened Species.
