WATCH: George Michael Needs YOU To Make Wham! Documentary

The 53-year-old music legend is making a comeback and wants fans to help him make a documentary about his early days in Wham!.

The film will chronicle George’s rise to fame in the pop duo - who had a string of hits including Club Tropicana, Careless Whisper, Last Christmas - and his early days as a solo artist.

A message on the star’s Twitter page revealed the news and the appeal to fans who attended their concerts, to send in footage and pictures.

A statement on his website adds thar George is: “Is personally reaching out to fans and friends asking for rare Wham! and George Michael footage in all media forms, from 1988 through 1996.

“This includes video (with or without sound) and photos (as high a resolution as possible), featuring: Mass Wham! hysteria; Concert crowds; George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley backstage, leaving venues, at hotels or in limos;Paparazzi shots; Or more, not listed above!”

Earlier this year it was rumoured the star was preparing to go on tour again and had made enquiries with various insurance companies about the “logistics” of getting back on the road.

George last appeared on stage in 2012 and he’s shifted more than 100 million records worldwide throughout his career. Despite this, insiders believed there was a chance the singer would find it difficult to get backer because he’s battled with addiction and became seriously ill with pneumonia in Vienna, Austria, in 2011.
