Perhaps it goes without saying, but if you’re going to partake in the Corfu Easter tradition of throwing clay pots off the balcony, you should probably check if there’s anyone passing below.

On Sunday Greek media shared footage of three men in suits tossing a big red pot off the Old Town Hall.

Just before it lands two women approach the window from the street, getting hit square on the head and slipping on the broken fragments.

It’s not clear who the men are but the small crowd gathered to film the pot smashing suggests it was an official event.

The Enimerosi news outlet said one of the women hit by the pot was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The tradition on the island off Greece’s northwest coast marks the resurrection of Christ and is believed to help ward off bad spirits.

Spectators take pieces of the smashed pots home as good luck charms.
