The first look at Robert EggersNosferatu film is out. The movie will mark just the second remake of the famous German horror, the last of which was released in 1979.

The original silent film Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror debuted in 1922 as an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula novel. Stoker’s heirs sued the team behind the film and a court ordered all of the copies to be destroyed. A few survived, however, and the flick went on to be regarded as one of the most famous horror films of the 20th century.

Eggers, who is largely known for The Lighthouse and The Northman, began working on adapting the movie nearly a decade ago. Lily Rose-Depp stars as Ellen Hutter, alongside Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok and Nicholas Hoult as Thomas Hutter.

Thomas visits Count Orlok – who is secretly a vampire – to sell him a house but after Orlok spots a portrait of Ellen, he becomes infatuated with the woman and plots to drink her blood.

The teaser opens with a scene of Depp screaming before cutting to shots of the townspeople grappling with a series of mysterious deaths, something they chalk up to rats from a local ship causing a plague.

Rounding out the main cast are Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney and Willem Dafoe.
