In a hilarious video uploaded to YouTube earlier this week, the shamefaced dog is unable to hide his guilt when his owner presents him with the chewed-up evidence.

Standing alongside an adorable Dachshund, the pit bull hangs his head in shame when he's made to face the object he evidently enjoyed attempting to eat earlier on in the day.

During the short clip, the cameraman, who is thought to be the dog's owner Daniel Martino from the city of Tortuguitas in Buenos Aires, can be heard questioning the two dogs: "Who was it? Who did this to my insole? Which one of you was it?"

Unsurprisingly, neither dog gives the cameraman an answer. However, in a last-ditch attempt to discover the culprit, the cameraman throws the insole on the floor – causing the pit bull to suspiciously scarper and hide behind a plant pot.

Sensing the pit bull's guilt, the cameraman turns his attention directly to him and accusingly says: "Mr, you over there, did you do this, I am talking to you, look at me!"

While the pit bull is clearly the one to blame, the cameraman doesn't let the Dachshund off the hook, and adds: "You're an accomplice in all of this!"

Para los que preguntan jaja Gracias por la buena onda ✌

It's no surprise the hilarious video – which is fittingly titled 'Pit bull culpable' - has already been viewed nearly four million times and has transformed the two adorable dogs into Internet sensations.

But not everyone saw the funny side, with some people taking to social media to accuse the owner of being cruel to his dogs – forcing the dog owner, Daniel, to defend himself on his Facebook page.

He wrote: "Now they're saying I abuse my dogs. HAHAHA you all know deep inside that you can hear the dogs screaming 'Help me'."

However, the majority of social media users found the video hysterical with one person writing: "I loved the video, I don't get tired of it," while another declared it was "the best video" they'd ever seen.
