WATCH: New Great British Bake Off 'acid trip' trailer divides opinion
The new Bake Off trailer is here and it’s er…a bit trippy to be honest.
There’s singing croissants, animated cakes, dancing flans and already the general consensus is Noel Fielding’s influence is at play as the clip has a certain Mighty Boosh-ness to it.
The Great British Bake Off
Coming soon, on Channel 4#GBBO pic.twitter.com/NVoGHCcN0A— Channel 4 (@Channel4) August 3, 2017
It’s set to the tune of Paul McCartney and the Frog Chorus’s ‘We All Stand Together’ – from the 1984 animated film Rupert and the Frog Song. Of course.
While some Bake Off fans have said they like it, others aren’t so sure with many younger viewers not recognising the song and one Twitter user even calling the video an ‘acid nightmare’.
The haters:
Ghost croissants? A sad cake? A bakery on acid? Yep, Channel 4 has turned #GBBO into a glutenous Mighty Boosh. pic.twitter.com/RQCwXmEQtQ

It's fine, I didn't need to sleep again anyway. Never thought I'd die by being haunted by singing biscuits.

Versus the lovers:
I actually like it. It's very well animated! I think I'm getting excited for what Bake Off was though rather than what it's becoming…

The new series of Great British Bake Off is due to start later this year on Channel 4 with new presenters Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig – a hiring that has left many fans confused.
