Watch: Porsche Driver Wearing Slippers Narrowly Avoids Horror Smash

This is the dramatic moment a Porsche driver narrowly avoided a head-on collision when she tried to overtake cars on a blind bed so she could “pick her husband up from the pub”.

Shocking dashcam footage shows the driver speeding past one car before being forced to pull back to the right side of the road when a Skoda heads straight towards her.

The Porsche Cayenne can be seen slowing down dramatically and pulling in, only just avoiding a potentially deadly front end crash.

The Skoda is seen mounting the grass verge while the Porsche veers into the Citroen, damaging both vehicles, before speeding away.

Later on the Porsche driver emerged from the vehicle to say she was in a rush to “pick her husband up from the pub.”

Damian Hodgson, who filmed the astonishing footage, caught up with the cars further down the road and was horrified to find out the dangerous driver was wearing SLIPPERS.

Damian was driving on the B1253 between Rudston and Bridlington, East Yorks., when the incident occurred.

Describing the near-miss, Damian, who had his wife and two young children in the car, said: “She [the Porsche driver] put at least several lives in jeopardy by attempting that overtake.

"We were just all in complete shock - we couldn’t believe what we were seeing because it was just so reckless.

"We were just getting up to the national speed limit and we were approaching a slow moving tractor and then the Porsche just came flying past. We genuinely thought it was a definite head-on collision.”

Damian stopped to speak with the Skoda driver, whose car was miraculously unharmed, and found a 10-year-old girl in the front passenger seat in tears.

The dad-of-two continued on the road towards Bridlington when he saw the Porsche and Citroen drivers pulled to the side of the road.

Damian added: “The Porsche driver told me she thought she was going to die.

"She was shaking like a leaf and on the edge of crying as she knew she had done wrong - she was hugging the Citroen driver and was apologetic.

"She said she was picking her husband up from the pub and was wearing a pair of slippers - but it’s no excuse to be overtaking on a blind bend…

"If anything comes of this, it is hopefully that the Porsche driver has learned a lesson and she will not put others in danger again.”
