WATCH: Stranger Things' David Harbour Finally Got to Dance with Penguins in Antarctica

David Harbour has finally brought his penguin dance to its natural habitat.

“You guys seen Stranger Things? It’s on Netflix,” he asks his audience of tiny penguins in a clip filmed by girlfriend Alison Sudol. “There’s a very special scene that the internet has liked a lot. I just wanted to share it will all of you guys. It’s not a big deal,” he explains before breaking into the goofy, penguin-esque choreography. He adds, “Thank you Greenpeace. Thank you Internet. I’ve never had so much fun being humiliated.”

The dance went viral after first being executed by Harbour’s character, Chief Hopper, in the award-winning Netflix series and led to the actor asking global campaigning organization Greenpeace to bring him to the southernmost continent to get some dance tips from the real experts. Greenpeace responded to Harbour’s tweet the next day, telling him, “Hmm, if you get over 200k we’ll ask the Captain if you can join our expedition to the Antarctic and dance with the penguins.”

His tweet got more than 380,000 retweets and he and Sudol boarded a vessel headed to the bottom of the world earlier this month.

In a press release issued before his departure, Harbour wrote, “Well, Greenpeace says the Weddell Sea and its surroundings are home to a precious ecosystem, vital to sustaining our future. And that there’s penguins there. And that I’ll get to waddle around with them, discuss their parenting techniques with them and yes, yes, dance with them.”

This isn’t the first time Harbour’s Twitter fan base has rallied to help make dreams come true.

In the past year, Harbour himself has granted wishes to his Stranger Things fans — posing for senior portraits holding a trombone with a high school student and agreeing to officiate a wedding in Illinois in September all simply because his followers were able to get enough support on social media.
