WATCH X Factor 2016: Twitter erupts as Matt Terry 'kisses' Freddy Parker

It’s safe to say that Matt Terry’s winning X Factor performance last night was overshadowed by one thing; a very excited Freddy Parker.

The blonde hopeful was eliminated from the show in Week Two but seemed overcome with emotion as Matt took home the crown and gave the first ever performance of his debut solo single ‘When Christmas Comes Around’.

Bursting across the stage as all of the eliminated acts made their way to join Matt for the final part of the track, Freddy enveloped Matt in a bear hug from behind as he sobbed, rubbing Matt’s shoulders throughout his performance.

However, what really got the people of Twitter speaking was the moment after the song ended, when it looked as though Matt might have planted a kiss on Freddy.

Although concealed by the other contestants, Matt’s head visibly turns towards Freddy’s and it looks as though he leans forward, with social media erupting at that moment:

The move comes just two weeks after it was reported that two X Factor contestants of the same sex were enjoying a secret relationship, with a source sharing at the time: “They became pals throughout Boot Camp, but they only got together when they made it to the live shows.

“Their families and friends know they are an item, but they’ve kept it a secret from viewers. Their fans have no idea they are a couple.

“Both get a lot of tweets from fans, but they just aren’t interested.”

Neither Matt or Freddy have commented on the alleged kiss, but Freddy took to Instagram to share a selfie of himself and Matt, sharing his pride for the singer’s win.
