Watchmen and When They See Us stars cast in It prequel series
It prequel series Welcome to Derry, from HBO Max, has cast its first four actors, including Watchmen's Jovan Adepo and When They See Us star Chris Chalk.
According to Deadline, Adepo, Chalk, James Remar (Dexter) and Taylour Paige (Zola) have all joined the project, though details about their characters are being kept under wraps.
Not too much is known about the show's plot either, but we do know that it's set to expand the universe established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the feature films It and It Chapter Two.

Derry is the small town Pennywise the Clown has been tormenting for decades, so it's possible that the sewer-dweller's origins will finally be revealed.
Muschietti will direct several episodes for the upcoming series, while Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman) is set write the first episode.
Muschietti and his sister Barbara, who helped him come up with the original story and will executive produce the project, previously said in a joint statement: "As teenagers, we took turns reading chapters of Stephen King's It until the thick paperback fell to pieces.

"It is an epic story that contains multitudes, far beyond what we could explore in our It movies. We can't wait to share the depths of Steve's novel, in all its heart, humour, humanity, and horror."
Back in 2019, Bill Skarsgård (who played Pennywise in both It chapters) said there were a "few ideas" for his character in the works.
"Andy and I have discussed ideas for what a third movie would look like," he said. "I don't think it's quite what people expect. It's something different."
There's still no news on whether we'll get a third It film, so those ideas could have inspired the prequel series.
Welcome to Derry will air on HBO Max.
