Wayne and Coleen Rooney welcome baby number four into family on Instagram

Wayne Rooney’s career may have slowed down since leaving the dizzy heights of Manchester United, but he and Coleen are as family-orientated as ever.

With the pair already having three kids – Kai, 8, Klay, 4, and Kit, 2 – they’ve now welcomed another, baby boy Cass, to the Rooney family.

The couple, who have been together since they were teenagers and married since 2008, posted respective images of the new arrival on each of their Instagram accounts.

Wayne, 32, uploaded the news to his 12 million Instagram followers, with a cheeky football comment.

‘5-a-side team complete! Welcome to the world Cass,’ he captioned the snap of him and his boys.

And wife Coleen, 31, shared a black and white picture of her and the family’s latest arrival to her 674,000 followers – although her comment was, unsurprisingly, non-football-related.

‘So Happy to welcome our Baby Boy …. Cass Mac Rooney into the world weighing a healthy 8lb 10oz. He is beautiful.’

And people were eager to congratulate the couple on the good health of their new baby.

‘Congratulations to you. I too have 4 precious boys,’ one well wisher commented. ‘Congratulations he’s beautiful’ and ‘Such a beautiful name. well done and congratulations to you all’ said others.

‘The next Wayne Rooney,’ one simply said, implying baby Cass was going to follow in her dad’s footsteps and become a world famous footballer.

There were equally as nice best wishes on Wayne’s photo, too. ‘Congrats @waynerooney let me know when you 5-a-side is ready to take on mine,’ quipped one follower.

‘Congratulations n good luck to you all’, ‘Congrats Wayne keep up the hard work my favourite player of all time’, and ‘Oh my God, very beautiful rooney,’ read others.

The couple first announced they were pregnant with a four child in August of last year, and since then there have been a few bumps in the road. Notably, when Coleen posted an emotional Facebook post addressing Wayne and her’s marriage, when he was caught drink driving another woman’s car whilst in her company. In the post she said: ‘I would never trust ANYONE who has had a lot of alcohol, it changes some people drastically,’ and vowed to stay with her husband to make it work.

Speaking to Hello!, Coleen revealed what it was like to be a mother and niceties that come with it: ‘My favourite part is the love that they show towards you. How much they rely on you – you are their everything. To know that this little person is relying on you so much and that you are bringing them up and developing them, it’s a massive achievement and you get so much out of that.’

While she admitted the sleepless night are tough, she says she wouldn’t change it for the world, and shared how rewarding parenthood was. ‘But when they give you that smile, it is all worth it and any stress is forgotten about!’
