Wayne Lineker has stunned fans by claiming he’s engaged to his Celebs Go Dating co-star Chloe Ferry.

The 58-year-old nightclub boss confused fans as he posted snaps cuddled up to Ferry, 25, writing on Instagram: "She said YES! Love you @chloegshore1."

In the pictures she is wearing a huge diamond ring.

However, their bombshell news was not taken seriously by many with one follower replying, "April Fools Day isn’t for another five weeks guys!"

Another added: "It’s a joke obviously.”

The official Celebs Go Dating Instagram page wrote: “Ummmm...”

The millionaire club owner starred on the latest Celebs Go Dating series with Geordie Shore star Chloe.

Love Island star Curtis Pritchard and Made in Chelsea alum Sophie Hermann also starred.

Despite being nearly 60, Lineker famously doesn’t date women over 30 years old.

When he appeared on the show he revealed he was concerned about going on a date with a woman who was 31 because she was "older than the girls he usually goes for".

Previously, Lineker - the brother of football pundit Gary - has hinted he was no longer single.

Speaking to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on ITV’s This Morning last month, Lineker dropped a hint he’d found love. "I was looking for a relationship - well I was before the show - let’s see what happens on that..." he said.

The dad-of-four has been married and divorced twice.

Last year, the star shared a list of what he would require in a partner.

“My family have decided I need a girlfriend for my own sanity and health,” he wrote on an Instagram.

The list included “liking older men but only me”, being “[aged] above 30 (OK 28 29 could work) but not my age as that would just look weird” and “prepared to give up your career or job or at least be able to work from a laptop on a tropical beach somewhere”.

Celebs Go Dating saw all participants move into a mansion together so they could form a Covid-safe bubble.
