Wayne Rooney's DC United wonder-pass: Manchester United legend produces sensational assist to clinch last-gasp winner
Wayne Rooney has finally won over the fans of DC United after his incredible assist handed his side a last-gasp victory on Sunday.
DC United had been pegged back twice by 10-man Orlando City to leave the score level at 2-2 heading into injury time. But in the final minute of six minutes added on, Orlando broke on the counter with three players against one.
The former Everton and Manchester United striker, who joined the MLS outfit in June, sensed the danger and ran the best part of 50 yards before executing a perfectly-timed sliding challenge to win back possession.

Rooney then delivered a trademark 60-yard diagonal pass towards the back post and Luciano Acosta arrived to head past Orlando goalkeeper Joe Bendik.

It capped a perfect ending to the game for Rooney, who had earlier had a goal ruled out for offside, after a difficult start to life in the MLS where he has scored just once in four appearances.
The win means DC United remain bottom of the Eastern Conference standings but move to within two points of Chicago Fire, who have played five games more.
