We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, and it seems like we shall fight in the pub too.

Winston Churchill never referenced Britain’s love of a boozer in his famous Dunkirk speech – but this man is an uncanny lookalike of the political icon, and it’s been proven without a doubt after his face was compared to Churchill’s appearance on a £5 note.

The hilarious resemblance was spotted by Roy Thomas from Wallasey, Merseyside, who held a fiver up to compare the similarities between the two.

Captioning the snap, he wrote: ‘Not everyday you meet the fella over the fivers.’

It’s since received almost 1,500 retweets – and a few ringing endorsements of the lookalikes.

‘Twins! Separated at birth’, one user said.

Another sensed the opportunity for some historical lookalike work, and predicted that the man was ‘sitting on a fortune.’

And if there was any doubt over his resemblance, this face swap has unequivocally settled it.

See what we mean? It’s a strong look that Winston himself would personally approve.
