The following article contains allegations of sexual misconduct that some readers may find distressing.

Harvey Weinstein accuser Rose McGowan has said she felt "very good" to see the disgraced Hollywood mogul arrested in New York on unrelated sexual misconduct charges.

Weinstein was charged on Friday (May 25) with rape and sex abuse charges relating to two women, following Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance Jr's office presenting its findings to a grand jury.

McGowan is among many prominent Hollywood women - including Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Cara Delevingne and Lupita Nyong'o - to have accused Weinstein of his historic misconduct, but recently said she doubted he'd ever face justice in a courtroom.

Following the producer's arrest on Friday, McGowan told NBC's Today: "It's surreal, it's real. It's both and it's kind of like living in a Salvador Dali painting, this whole thing. And to see him do the Bill Cosby old man perp walk on the way in, so we already know what he is planning, to see him in cuffs on the way out, whether he smiled or not, that's a very good feeling.

"Since the news broke, even though his face is everywhere, I haven't had a single nightmare for the first time," she continued.

"This man had hunting grounds all over the world, and he had accomplices and a complicity machine. He was the cult leader of Hollywood… their king.

"Predators eat people, and he ate a lot of my life and I want my life back. I actually didn't believe this day would come… This is a big strike into the heart of abuse of power."

Weinstein has always "unequivocally denied" any allegations of non-consensual sex made against him.
