Welsh hotel shares outstanding throwback of Gavin & Stacey stars with Welsh rugby icons

Luxury Welsh hotel resort, the Vale Resort, has shared a series of throwback pictures as it marks its 25th anniversary. The snap, which was posted to the resort's Instagram showed the cast of BBC sitcom Gavin & Staceywhich is rumoured to be making a comeback later this year – and some stars of Welsh rugby team.

Sharing the snaps, the Vale Resort penned: “We're celebrating our 25th anniversary this year, and during this time we'll be going through the archives and digging out some photos and memories of years passed.

All the Gavin & Stacey favourites can be seen in the photo, including Ruth Jones, James Corden, Mathew Horne, Joanna Page, Larry Lamb, Melanie Walters and Rob Brydon. They pose with members of the Welsh rugby team at the time Nathan Gough, Adam Jones, Mike Phillips, Ryan Jones and Jonathan Thomas who, the previous year had won their first Six Nations in 27 years .

The episode in which the snap was taken sees Gavin & Stacey go to a wedding fayre with their families. It is the fourth episode of the first series and released on May 27, 2007. After uploading the picture several people commented, with one person writing: “Great pics!!!” A second commented: “The wedding fair episode I watched this week!”

Vale Resort is the home base for both the national football and rugby teams.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the Vale Resort has had 25 days of giveaways from April 2. A golf break and spa break are up for grabs, as are golf lessons, a gin-making experience at Hensol Castle Distillery, tickets to various events (such as Faulty Towers, the Bonfire Night fireworks display and Christmas parties), afternoon tea and personal training sessions.
