Marko Arnautovic has decided to change his West Ham shirt number from 27 to 7 after it became vacant following the exit of Sofiane Feghouli this week.

Arnautovic, who joined West Ham in a club-record deal from Stoke City this summer, had originally chosen to take the No.27 jersey, which he wore in the Hammers' first league game of the season against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

However, following news of Feghouli's £3.9m departure to Galatasaray on Monday night, Arnautovic has opted to take up the Algerian's No.7 shirt - which will reunite him with the number he wore at Werder Bremen and for the Austria national team.

With West Ham fans likely to have already bought Arnautovic No.27 shirts, the club have offered supporters the chance to change it for jerseys with the forward's new number on.

The club have also contacted fans to offer an exchange.
