It’s Pride month and West Lothian is gearing up for its own celebrations.

Locals are looking forward to getting “proud and loud’ and celebrating diversity together.

A day of celebration is planned for Saturday, July 27, at Howden Park Centre from 11am to 5pm.

West Lothian Pride was founded in 2015 by a group of the Glitter Cannons and local LGBTQI+ individuals who recognised the need for a Pride event in their community.

The first event was held in July 2015 at Howden Park Centre in Livingston. It was a huge success and sparked the start of an annual tradition.

In 2016 the event moved to a larger venue, the West Lothian College, and saw even more attendees and support from local businesses and organisations. Each year, the event continues to grow and evolve, with a diverse range of performers, speakers and activities.

Once again this year there will be a parade and march through the town centre, live music and entertainment, information stalls from local LGBTQI+ organizations plus food and drink vendors.
