Where does the ‘Thank you to my man’ sound on TikTok come from?

With all the trending sounds circulating on TikTok right now, one remixed audio is rising in popularity charts.

On June 25, rapper Latto received the Best Female Hip Hop Artist award at the BET Awards. She thanked a myriad of people in her acceptance speech but emphasized gratitude towards her partner, a.k.a. Her man.

Her speech became a highlight of the night, and TikTokers took that moment and ran with it. Just a week after the award ceremony, CasaDi (@Casadimusic) remixed the moment and turned it into a viral sound. CasaDi is also the account behind the viral “One Margarita” song and Beyoncé’s “My Husband” remix.

The video has over 6 million views since she posted it, while the audio has over 399,000 posts attributed to it. TikTokers have used the sound in plenty of ways, showing its versatility. Some people have used it to thank their boyfriend, just like Latto, while others have used it to show gratitude to the people in their lives.

“Me and my friend buying each other food w/ the same 20 bucks we’ve owed each other for the past six months,” wrote @daytonmodernman.

Some are even using the sound to thank people that aren’t real.

“To the man I use in all the scenarios I make up every night before I go to sleep,” wrote @lavendercashewmilklatte in her post.

This audio is yet another Latto moment that has sparked a trend on TikTok. Earlier this year, TikTokers were ripping plastic bags to match the lyrics of Latto’s hit song “Put It On Da Floor.” From prom nights to school hallways and even just bedrooms, many people participated in this trend.

With the remix of “Put It On Da Floor” — called “Put It On Da Floor Again” featuring Cardi B — near the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and the trending “Thank you to my man” sound being popular on TikTok, Latto’s influence on the app is arguably second to none.
