ITV's new mind-bending gameshow sees participants whisked away to an idyllic Caribbean island to win a life-changing sum of money.

The Fortune Hotel challenges 10 pairs of contestants to stay in a luxury, five-star resort where they could win a £250,000 jackpot. Fronted by comedian and actor Stephen Mangan, it will see each each pair given a briefcase on check-in.

Eight are empty, one has the jackpot and another has the dreaded early check-out card, which sees the unlucky owner's time on the show cut short. Each day, the contestants have to attempt to figure out who has which case via a series of compelling challenges - similar to the hit BBC gameshow The Traitors.

The show culminates in the all-important case swap: each pair must decide whether to keep hold of their case or swap with someone else. The first episode debuts on ITV1 and ITVX on Monday night (May 13) at 9pm.

Viewers might be wondering where exactly the exciting new series was filmed. The contestants are staying at the the luxurious Silversands hotel in Grenada, one of the Caribbean's southern-most islands.

Lying just 100 miles north-east of Venezuela, the flight to the resort's closest airport - Maurice Bishop International Airport - is just under 11 hours from London, and a little more than 14 hours from Manchester including stopovers. Silversands first opened its doors in December 2018.

The hotel, which starts from around £720 a night, is set on Grenada's famed Grand Anse Beach. It comprises 43 suites & nine villas which come with their own private pools, making for an intimate, laid-back getaway.

The hotel’s centrepiece is the huge and highly Instagrammable 100m-long infinity swimming pool - the largest pool in the Caribbean - which stretches from the reception area to the beach front and calm azure water beyond.

As well as the sea and its pristine beaches, Grenada is home to tropical jungles, waterfalls and mountains - making it an excellent place for hikers and nature lovers. There are more than a dozen waterfalls scattered across the island which can be reached by car or foot.

Grenada's capital of Saint Georges is also a short drive from Silversands. The colourful capital is home to some of the island's best restaurants, serving up delightful stuffed crab shells and not forgetting pints of rum punch.

Temperatures stay at a maximum of around 30C year round on Grenada, peaking at 32C in September with lows of just 23C in January.

The Fortune Hotel airs every Monday-Thursday at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX from Monday May 13.
