Why did a Bank pay for Man's £23,400 Lap Dancing Bill?

Considering that banks dislike handing out money at the best of times -covering a £23,400 bill at a lap-dancing club must seriously gripe.

Norwegian bank, Sparebank 1, has been forced to do just that after a Polish court decided that a man had been drugged in a Polish strip club and was not responsible for his extravagant bill.

The court heard that the Norwegian man only found out what happened the next morning when he checked his bank balance.

Once he realised his drinks had been spiked - he contacted local police.

Anna Piórkowska from the district prosecutor’s office told Gazeta Wyborcza: ‘Unfortunately that was the next day so there wasn’t a lot we could do, but we did take blood and urine samples and passed them on for toxicology tests.

‘But alas as it was so late after the alleged incident took place and they didn’t show anything.’

While the club denied spiking his drink - CCTV footage seemed to show a barman slipping a substance into his drink.

The investigation against the barman and the club have been dropped after evidence was found to be ‘puzzling’ but inconclusive.
