There's been something bothering us ever since Euron Greyjoy barged his way into Game of Thrones. And we're not talking about his questionable taste in emo clothes.

Basically, we want whatever Euron's having – the magical something that keeps him looking so young. Is the actor playing him just wildly miscast... or is there something sinister going on?

Let's break this down: Euron is meant to be Theon and Yara's uncle. He is the eldest younger brother of their father Balon. Now, Euron always looked far younger than Balon, but we can accept that - it's not uncommon for siblings to be born many years apart...

But then, we get to Balon and Euron's younger brother. Remember that: younger brother. It's this guy, Aeron...

Aeron is played by Michael Feast, who is 70 years old. Euron is played by Pilou Asbæk, who is 35. That's just five years older than Alfie Allen, who plays Theon.

Now, we've heard about tough paper rounds, but this is going a bit far, isn't it? Sure, Aeron is a Drowned Man... and maybe all that time soaking in sea water (and having a generally horrible time living among the Iron Islands) ages you, but that hasn't been explicitly explained.

So has Euron just been badly cast, or is there an external force at work, one that's yet to be explained? Considering that none of the Greyjoys have remotely questioned why the character looks so youthful, we might suspect it's the former.

But then again, in the books, Euron was always drawn to look far younger than his brothers. He resembled a rogue pirate with dark hair, while his brothers were bedraggled old dudes that looked like rejects from a Hagrid lookalike contest.

So, is there a chance that there's something magical at play here? Has Euron come into contact with some kind of age-defying curse? Something like, say, old-hag-in-disguise Melisandre has?

Or perhaps it's not Euron who's cursed? Maybe living in the Iron Islands does make you age faster? After all, Balon looks far, far older than necessary to have sired Theon and Yara.

Maybe it all boils down to what looks good. Did the GoT casting team just want to cast a younger actor to play the roguish Euron – someone who could potentially marry Cersei, and could face off against Jaime in a fair fight?

It remains to be seen, but surely the mystery surrounding the age of the show's newest villain needs to be addressed at some point... even if it's just a throwaway line to satisfy us nitpickers.
