Kate Middleton put thought into every detail of the outfit she wore on World Mental Health Day, when she and Prince William stepped out for the Royal Foundation event, Exploring our Emotional Worlds

On Tuesday, the Princess of Wales was seen wearing a plain black top and black trousers paired with a bright yellow L.K. Bennett jacket and accessorized with star-shaped earrings.

In addition to the earrings having a meaningful connection to the day's events, which included a forum with workshops and discussions about mental well-being, the blazer's pop of color was chosen to honor the occasion.

Kate, 41, wore yellow as a nod to the annual #HelloYellow campaign, which was launched to support the YoungMinds charity and raise awareness about young people's mental well-being on World Mental Health Day.

According to The Source — a website been created to provide information, advice and support for young people in Suffolk, England — #HelloYellow's 2023 theme was to "stand out and show up for young people’s mental health."

Not only did Kate stand out while participating in various workshops focused on emotions, relationships and community action, but she spoke about "building a brighter, more resilient future" through the power of continued support and open discussions about issues facing today's youth.

"Today, more people feel empowered to talk about their mental health than ever before," she said during Tuesday's forum at Birmingham's Factory Works. "This is a major step forward. William and I continue to be inspired to see young people, like you all here today, leading this charge – being particularly brave in having some of those conversations yourselves."

She added, "As a generation, you value and talk more about your mental health than any before you – something we truly admire and applaud."

As mentioned, Kate also wore special earrings, which were gifted to her by Sarah Renton, a Maidenhead Rugby Club coach whose daughter — Isobelle Phipps, 17 — died by suicide earlier this year.

The star-shaped earrings — dubbed "Issy Star" — were designed by Phipps' cousin and owner of EarSass, Sophie McGown, with proceeds going to the mental health charity, Brave Minds.

The earrings were first given to the princess in June, when she trained at the Maidenhead Rugby Club as part of her Shaping Us initiative.

Of course, Kate wasn't the only one who made meaningful outfit choices on Tuesday. Meghan Markle also put thought into what she wore during a surprise outing to Brooklyn's Marcy Lab School while she and Prince Harry were in New York City for their own mental health summit.

During the visit, Meghan was seen wearing a special letterman jacket that was gifted to her by a group of inner-city students during one of her last solo engagements as a working royal in March 2020.

While touring Robert Clack School in east London ahead of International Women’s Day in 2020, the debate squad gave the Duchess of Sussex, 42, the navy blue and white varsity letterman jacket.

For Tuesday's outing, Meghan paired the collegiate look with an all-black ensemble consisting of Frame skinny jeans, a simple shirt and Mary Jane pumps.

In addition to their stop in Brooklyn, Meghan and Harry, 39, led their Archewell Foundation's first-ever in-person event, which took place the same day as William, 41, and Kate's forum. Dubbed The Archewell Foundation Parents’ Summit: Mental Wellness in a Digital Age, it was aimed at giving voice to families who want to build a safer online world for children and teens.
