Lorraine Kelly fans might have noticed she has been absent from her ITV daytime show recently - but she is everywhere on the magazine stands this week.

The Lorraine host posted a tongue-in-cheek snap of a shop's magazine rack where she graced the cover of many of the titles on sale, joking about an offer on chocolate next to the mags as she wrote: "Oh look!!! Kit Kats two for £1.20 !!"

Kelly is the cover star of magazines including My Weekly, Yours, Woman's Own and Woman and Home, but meanwhile ITV viewers have been asking why she is not presenting her weekday morning show. She has been missing two days this week so far.

Her celebrity friends congratulated her on her magazine stardom as Richard Arnold commented with a laughing emoji, while Jenni Falconer wrote: "It’s like Kelly World domination." Carol Vorderman added: "world dominatrix..." and Ria Hebden wrote: "Busy busy!"

One of her fans commented: "Its Lorraine week," as someone else agreed: "You are taking over the world."

However, another person asked the question on many a Lorraine fan's lips as they commented: "So I need to go to the newsagents to see your face seeing as you’re not on the telly this week."

Many regular viewers of ITV's Lorraine have been wondering why the show's host has been covered for so many times recently. Last week, Loose Women star Christine Lampard stood in for her on Friday, while this week Good Morning Britain's Ranvir Singh has been taking on the half-term week shows.

One person commented on X: "I’ll never understand a show named Lorraine where the host who’s named Lorraine has so many days off," as someone else agreed: "Omg #Lorraine OFF again Need to change the name of the show."

Another person made a jibe at the presenter by commenting: "As a surprise to absolutely nobody, the long suffering Ranvir is back at the helm presenting Lorraine Kelly’s show for her for yet ANOTHER school half term. Lorraine’s daughter is a woman in her 30s. Give Ranvir a pay rise."

Someone else joked: "Dont know why everyone moans about #Lorraine being off work. It's half term and she's gotta look after her adult child Rosie."

However, Kelly has an exciting reason for taking time off work that is not to do with the school holidays, as her social media followers will know. The broadcaster is set to publish her debut novel, The Island Swimmer, on Thursday and is currently on a book tour in Scotland promoting her book which appears to have had great reviews so far.

She has shared photos on Instagram of herself signing copies of her book in Orkney, as well as telling fans that she is set to appear on The One Show on Tuesday where she will be talking about becoming an author. Of course, that also explains Kelly's popularity as a magazine star this week as she has been giving interviews about her novel.

This isn't the first time Lorraine viewers have commented on Kelly being missing from her ITV show - last summer, she was off while making a documentary on the Lockerbie air disaster, and she was also off sick with Covid in 2022 when she was covered by Carol Vorderman.

While Kelly is currently promoting her book, viewers have asked why she is often missing from Lorraine on Fridays with Lampard often covering for her.

In late January, the host explained she can get back to Scotland to see her mum. She wrote on Twitter: "Morning and huge thanks to the wonderful @clbleakley for stepping in on Fridays so I can get back home. Great to see mum doing really well and I appreciate your kind messages."

Many of ITV's daytime shows switch up their presenting line-up on Fridays, with Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid usually replaced by Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway at the end of the week. This Morning has traditionally had a different hosting duo on Fridays, which are currently covered by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, and before that were presented by Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.
