The fire service has explained why you'll see firefighters at Everton's new stadium.

Fire crews from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service will be at Bramley-Moore Dock today, Friday, June 14. A spokesperson for the emergency service posted on X this will be for a "height-related training exercise" at Everton FC's new stadium.

This will take place at around 2pm and 4pm. The spokesperson urged people to "not be alarmed" when they see fire engines there.

The full statement said: "Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service is taking part in a height-related training exercise at Everton FC’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock today. This will take place between approximately 2pm and 4pm. If you see fire engines in the area, please do not be alarmed."

It is not long until the Blues move into their new £500m home at Bramley-Moore Dock, which is set to be completed by the end of the year and ready for the start of 2025/26 football season. Everton have played at Goodison Park – the first purpose-built football ground in England – since they departed Anfield in 1892.
