Forest fires burned in the hills around Acapulco, Mexico, on April 24.

Videos filmed by X user @JonTapiaSS show the fire burning near a highway and in the mountains.

Acapulco Civil Protection said four agencies, including forestry and environmental protection commissions and the Ministry of National Defense, were coordinating a response to the fire with local firefighters.

The Ministry of Education of Guerrero closed schools and administrative offices in Acapulco and Chilpancingo due to the smoke on Wednesday
