Wilko now sells whole kitchens

Household and garden retailer Wilko has launched its own collection of "affordable" kitchens. Each can be customised and "then effortlessly self-assembled to help homeowners cut the cost of designing and installing their dream kitchen", a spokesperson for the Leicester-founded company said.

The Wilko kitchen collection, which launches online today (April 25) offers "six distinct styles" that "reflect the UK’s most popular kitchen aesthetics and colour schemes". "So, whether a household is focused on the latest modern trends, such as handleless doors and slab counters, or prefers a classic ‘shaker kitchen’ look, there’s a style to match their taste," the spokesperson said.

"Designed for everyone from hard-working families and avid DIY-ers to first time buyers and renters, the Wilko kitchen collection offers cost-conscious consumers a quick, easy and affordable way to upgrade the focal point of their home," they added.

The kitchens feature pre-inserted cams and dowels. "Not only does this mean there’s no need to hire an expensive fitter, it also makes the kitchen build simple, with no time-consuming construction or hunting for tiny pieces," the spokesperson said. "Each cabinet provided is sturdy and reliable thanks to the use of 18mm melamine faced chipboard, which ensures durability and longevity. These cabinets are also fitted with an equally sturdy back panel to make them even more robust when fitted to a wall.

"While practicality is of course a key focus, design has not been ignored; all wilko cabinet doors come with a colour-matched reverse to ensure the build is fully colour coordinated and offers a harmonious look that enhances the overall appeal of the kitchen."
