Prince Harry and Prince William inherited a significant portion of their late mother's belongings following her tragic death in a car crash, but there is one item they will never receive. Princess Diana tragically lost her life in a fatal accident in Paris on 31 August 1997, as her driver Henri Paul attempted to evade the paparazzi.

Both Henri and Diana's boyfriend Dodi Fayed also perished in the incident.

Harry and William were bequeathed the majority of Diana's £13million fortune, along with much of her jewellery collection. However, the brothers will not inherit their mother's childhood home, Althorp Estate, which will instead pass to an actor.

The property, which has been part of the Spencer family since 1508, will be inherited by Harry and William's cousin Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp. Louis is the son of Diana's brother, Earl Charles Spencer, reports the Mirror.

Despite having three older sisters, Louis will be the sole inheritor of the estate due to the aristocracy's system of primogeniture, where titles are passed down to the eldest male child.

Althorp Estate, where Diana spent her childhood and was later laid to rest, opens its doors to visitors every summer.

After studying at the University of Edinburgh, Louis began his acting career at a drama school in Chiswick, London. He is currently represented by Tavistock Wood talent agency.

An insider was quoted by The Telegraph, stating: "He's super private and gets on quietly with his thing. He's a very talented actor and, I think, will be a brilliant one. You'd like him. He's very low-key and genuine, decent and kind and tall."

Louis, who is in line to inherit the Althorp Estate, has already started participating in Trustee meetings at the age of 30. His elder sister, Kitty Spencer, detailed her feelings on Louis' inheritance of the property in words with Town and Country magazine: "Primogeniture can be a tricky topic, because as times are changing, attitudes are as well. We've grown up understanding that it's Louis to inherit, and Louis will do an incredible job."
