An ecstatic Willy Hutchinson says he is ready to "take over the world" after outpointing former world title challenger Craig Richards on the 5v5 card in Saudi Arabia.

The Carstairs boxer has bounced back from his only professional defeat to Lennox Clarke back in 2021 with five straight victories, and extended that record to 19-1 with a unanimous points decision against Englishman Richards. The Scot was troubled with his opponent's power on a couple of occasions during the bout, but went the distance for the first time in his career to take home the WBC silver light heavyweight belt and put his promoter Frank Warren 1-0 up in the five-fight showdown with Eddie Hearn.

In the post-fight interview, Hutchinson, admits he was given a tough test by Richardson but insists he is ready to move onto bigger and better things in search of a world title glory in the 175 pound division. He said: "Craig Richards is no bum and that was a hell of a fight.

"No disrespect to him, but look at the fight. This is my second WBC belt and I want to become WBC world champion. I can do it.

"I am young, hungry, sexy and ready to take over the world. Let's go baby! It was a tough fight but we win and move on. I been through it all and I am ready to rise to the top.

"I am grateful to my team in the corner who are like family to me. I'd also like to thank Frank Warren for not losing faith in me when everyone else did. My man is still here and we are ready to win more titles and push on."
