Woman Accidentally Texts Stranger About Grandchild’s Birth; He Brings Gift Anyway

When Mark Lashley’s wife, Lindsey, went into labour his proud mum, Teresa, decided to share the news with some close friends.

Texting around to a group of five, she excitedly announced: “they’re having the baby today”.

But even after a reply came that said “congrats lol but I think someone got the wrong number” Teresa continued to send messages.

She then announced the baby’s weight and sent a picture with the newborn.

The stranger then replied announcing that he would be popping by “with the boys” to get a picture with the child.

The mum, realising what had happened, apologised for the confusion, writing: “you are cracking me up. Sorry you got caught up in the baby birthing!”

Incredibly – after asking what the number was and confirming it was the nearby Bainbridge hospital in Georgia, US – they stayed true to their word.

Writing on Facebook and sharing phone grabs, Teresa wrote: “I accidentally text a message about Mark and Lindsey having a baby to a number I had for someone else, which now belongs to Mr Dennis Williams.

“He and his brother came by to visit us and brought the baby a gift! What a blessing these two guys were to our family.

"They were so sweet and kind to do this! You are two great guys and thank you for giving to someone you didn’t know.”

She added: “Please share this with anyone you know and hopefully these two guys will see it.”

The image was posted on Imgur and has since had more than 200,000 views.

Users were taken aback. “That’s actually super sweet. I like it!,” wrote one. Another added: “I absolutely LOVE stories like this.”
