Woman dies after being attacked by dogs in home in Liverpool

A woman has died after being attacked by dogs at a home in Liverpool.

Police confirmed the victim, believed to be in her 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene and her next of kin have been contacted.

The incident happened in St Brigids Crescent, Kirkdale, on Monday at around 4.25pm.

According to the Liverpool Echo, more than a dozen police cars, three ambulance vehicles and a fire engine were also on the scene.

Forensics officers arrived around two hours later and were seen entering the home and taking pictures outside.

Detective Inspector Gavin Mulcahy, from Merseyside Police, said: "We understand the shock this incident will cause in the local community and beyond.

"Our officers are at the scene carrying out further enquiries so if you have any information please let us know."
