A woman has died after falling from a rollercoaster in France.

The fatal incident happened on Saturday afternoon, according to the theme park.

The woman fell out of a moving carriage on the Formule 1 rollercoaster, Parc Saint Paul said in statement.

She was in her 30s, according to local media reports.

Emergency services were called to the park and the woman was declared dead at the scene.

Parc Saint Paul, a theme park in Oise in northern France, said the incident happened at around 1.45pm on 6 July.

No one else was injured.

One woman told local newspaper L’Observateur de Beauvais she was waiting near the Formule 1 rollercoaster on Saturday for her children, who were on the ride, when she heard screams.

She said her and her husband ran closer to the scene and noticed a woman on the floor.

An investigation is underway to establish what happened.

The death comes a month after the theme park, which is near Beauvais in northern France, reopened after closing its doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A woman in her 30s died after being ejected from the same ride at the park in 2009, according to French media.

A report did not find the theme park responsible for the death, French TV station La Chaine Info reported.
