Woman found dead in Glasgow home as police launch probe into 'suspicious' death

A probe has been launched after a young woman was found dead within a property in Glasgow.

Emergency services raced to the scene on Tummel Street in the Riddrie area of Glasgow on June 27 at around 7.40pm. Officers locked down the residential area after the victim was found 'seriously injured'.

Paramedics attended however, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland has confirmed that an investigation is underway and that they are treating the death as suspicious.

A 32-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with an alleged assault.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police received a report of a woman found seriously injured within a property on Tummel Street, Riddrie, Glasgow, around 7.40pm on Thursday, 27 June, 2024.

"Emergency services attended, however, the 36-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The death is being treated as suspicious and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances."
