A woman was left amused when a man nervously approached her in the supermarket to ask an "awkward question". She was doing her weekly shop with her children when the man, looking flustered and lost, approached her.

She shared on Reddit: "I had seen this man frantically walk around the same area but didn't think much of it. We were in the toiletries section and I had just been talking to my daughter about if we should try this new shampoo and conditioner that was on sale.

"We started walking towards toilet paper and the same man taps my shoulder and says 'I hope this isn't too awkward of a question but where are tampons?'"

Eager to assist, she directed him to the right aisle and answered his subsequent query.

"He asked me what he should buy and said she is 45 and has had kids," she continued. "I am not bothered by this question more just thinking dang men need knowledge about women, I show him what I get. He tried to grab just any box."

"I tell him it's better to get a box that has regular and super because that is what you usually need. He was super confused and what truly made me laugh was at the end, he looked at me and said 'is there anything cheaper' I told him no, there is not."

Sharing her experience on Reddit, the woman commended the man for ensuring he left the shop with the right products for his wife. She continued: "Good on him for taking care of her. It was quite the wake-up call for another guy how much we have to spend for something we have absolutely no control over."

One person responded to her post, saying: "My dad always did the shopping when I was growing up and would pick up tampons for me. My mum had a hysterectomy when I was little so I was the only one in the house who needed them. He just tore the top off my existing box and took it to the store so he could get the right ones for me (this was long before smartphones). I miss that guy."

Another chimed in: "I have a long-time friend who's a metal worker and mechanic. One time he was visiting while I was at work and had an emergency. I asked him to run to the house and grab me a tampon and told him where they were. I had the multi-pack of light, regular, and heavy which are marked in purple, yellow, and green, respectively. A few minutes later, I get a text, 'Do you need lemon, lime, or grape?'"

A third commenter shared: "I asked my mum once if my dad was ever weird about buying pads for her and she said 'you don't marry someone who won't buy pads for you'. He has three sisters and was always chill about picking me up from school on my period."
