Woman spots two huge wolves running alongside her car

A Canadian woman was travelling to work earlier this month when she caught sight of two large black wolves running on the road alongside her.

Rhonda Miller, who lives in Canada's Northwest Territories, initially thought the creatures were humans, until she got loser to them.

She pulled out her phone and captured video footage of the animals, which she later uploaded to Facebook.

"It was just past the Stagg River," she told her Facebook followers. "They were running flat-out and not concerned about me at all. It was amazing to see them!"

Speaking to CBC, Ms Miller said: "I thought that was strange because you don't normally see people walking on the road that far out.

"I slowed down a bit and I got closer. I thought it was a bear, and I thought, it can't be a bear because it was the wrong time of year."

After spotting the second animal, Ms Miller said she became immediately afraid. "I was so struck by the size of their heads and their jaws," she said.

She estimated the animals were running at between 40 and 50 kilometers per hour.

"When I got to school, I shared (the video) with the teachers and kids," she said.

"Everybody was just amazed. I think just the power of them and the beauty of them, seeing them running like that, flat out, is pretty inspiring."
