A Merseyside woman who launched her business from her mum's kitchen now dresses celebrity clients from across the country.

Mollie-May, from Oxton, Wirral, started her own fashion brand Caramella back in 2017. The brand quickly gained popularity on Instagram and started to get attention from reality TV stars including Cheshire Housewives, Love Islanders and the cast of The Only Way Is Essex.

Last year, the 26-year-old celebrated a milestone when she opened a pop-up shop in Liverpool ONE. Now Mollie-Mae has celebrated yet another achievement after launching a new collection with Cheshire Housewives star Ellie Egar.

Last night on June 19, the Caramella CEO toasted to her new collection with Housewives Tanya Bardsley, Seema Malhotra and Sheena Lynch among other celebrity guests at the VIP launch event. Actress Charlotte Dawson and Housewife Paige Chohan were also there.

Caramella X Ellie Egar is a new 20-piece collection created by the pair, which includes swimwear, beachwear, footwear, and stunning evening wear. Mollie-May, who started Caramella seven years ago from her mum’s kitchen table said: "At Caramella we focus on one big project per season, and I’m delighted with how well this has been received.

"It’s our first collaboration, as well as Ellie’s, and she has designed and selected all the pieces in the range. Although we worked together on the collection, having worked for a major fashion company Ellie knew exactly what she wanted, and we’re thrilled with the results. It’s basically your ultimate holiday edit, a collection designed with sun and summer in mind."

One of the stand-out pieces which has already been bought more than 1000 times is a lime green sequinned maxi dress which Mollie-May admitted she’d already worn to a friend’s wedding in Croatia this week. The collection also includes lots of Ellie’s trademark animal prints with vibrant leopard and zebra looks making a striking statement.

It's available in sizes 6 to 16, with hopes that it will expanded further, making the range hugely accessible and widely wearable. Mollie-May added: "A fashion collaboration was one of Ellie’s goals this year and it seemed like the obvious next step for both of us.

"I’m very protective of the Caramella brand but I trusted Ellie implicitly and it’s worked out really well. I’m just so excited....We want to create clothes and fashion that can be worn by everyone."
