A woman has shared a simple but effective cleaning hack that will get rid of tough stains on a commonly dirty kitchen appliance.

There are many areas in the kitchen that are a tough clean, such as the inside of your oven and the drum of the washing machine. Whether you are planning a deep clean of the home or have just noticed some stains, one area that is often left unchecked is the cooker hood.

As you cook food on your hob, grease and other tough stains can form on the cooker hood and make it smell dirty and not pleasant at all. This area is particularly difficult to clean given where it is in the kitchen and the grease can be tough to remove.

Thankfully, one woman has shared her ultimate hack for cleaning the cooker hood and having it smelling as fresh as possible in no time. In a video under the handle @annieblackmurx on TikTok, the woman showed her followers how to get rid of tough stains from your cooker hood.

In the caption, the woman wrote: "The kitchen cleaning hack you need… be gone dirty smelly cooker hoods! Boiling water and let them dry! Voila!"

The beginning of the video shows a close up of the woman's cooker hood looking dirty and unappealing with brown stains covering it all the way across. The woman unclicked the hood and took the two dirty panels down, placing them in the sink one at a time.

She then poured boiling water all over the panel and watched the stains run off and into the sink underneath it. The woman proceeded to place the two clean panels to dry in the sun for some time and then showed off their cleanliness in another clip before placing them back on the cooker hood.

Viewers under this video shared their joy at this hack and also added their own suggestions on how to get tougher stains out.

One person wrote: "So glad I came across this!"

Another said: "I needed to see this!! Thanks for sharing."

A third added: "I tried this and it did get the majority of it up but it’s still so sticky! So I went over it with washing up liquid and then elbow grease spray. Worked a treat."

And a fourth noted: "I use boiled water washing up liquid and a little bleach. Just boiled water don't take away all the grease and stickiness."
