Women, Wine, Jewels set for Jan. 22

Dec. 26—ASHLAND — Ashland Community and Technical College will host the fifth annual Women, Wine, Jewels and More scholarship fundraiser on Monday, Jan. 22.

Brooke Seasor, ACTC's director of resource development, and Norma Meek, a retired educator who is involved in multiple non-profit organizations and community events, will join 26 local sponsoring hostesses as they are extending invitations to the fundraiser, which helps support ACTC scholarships for women.

The women-only event is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 22, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at The Mill on Winchester Avenue. Cost is $50 per person. It includes hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction for jewelry, purses and more, according to a press release from ACTC.

The ACTC Foundation has established a $55,445 Community Women's Endowment with the proceeds since the inaugural Women, Wine, Jewels and More event in 2019. Six scholarships have been awarded so far.

"Norma Meek and I are looking forward to celebrating our fifth annual Women, Wine, Jewels and More event," Seasor said. "This is a great networking event established for women in our community to attend and have a fun evening with friends."

Among this year's hostesses are Mayola Boykin, Holly Canfield, Amanda Clark, Brandy Clark, Terri Branham-Clark, Lori Cooksey, Cheri Daniel, Missy Fannin, Sheila Fraley, Donna Jones, Julie Klein, Ashley Layman, Jane Layman, Alice Martin, Kim McCann, Willie McCullough, Leslee Mcleod, Ann Perkins, April Perry, Samantha Prince, Brooke Elswick-Robinson, Louise Shytle, Kerry Tague, Mae Deane Torgrimson, Heather Vanderen and Robin Webb.

Seasor said men can become a "Jewel of a Guy" by sponsoring the event with $100. Businesses can become a "Gem of a Business" with a $250 sponsorship.

Reservations are required for the event. Limited spots are available. The deadline is Jan. 19.
