These wonky white street lines are driving some Scottish motorists around the bend

These wonky white street lines are driving some motorists in one Scottish town around the bend.

The markings, which run along at different angles instead of being dead straight, recently appeared on a stretch of Langlea Road in Cambusland, near Glasgow.

Locals want to know whether the painter was drunk when applying them to the road.

Many drivers have joked about the unusual marks.

“I always feel like getting my paint brush out and drawing them bloody straight lol #disaster,” wrote Gail Dick on Facebook.

“Must have went for pub lunch,” added Frank Mclaren.

Others, however, believe they could contribute to an accident.

“They need to be corrected so they are accurate and safe for road users,” Rutherglen MSP James Kelly told the Daily Record.

“People take pride in this area and the way these lines are painted just makes it look stupid,” added another resident.

South Lanarkshire Council’s Roads and Transportation Services director Gordon Mackay said an investigation had been launched into the lines.

“Unfortunately in this instance the quality of workmanship does not appear to be up to our usual standard,” he said.
