The annual Apple Worldwide Developers Conference developer's conference takes place this week, with the tech giant's new music streaming service among the announcements expected.

Apple chief executive Tim Cook will appear on stage later today to unveil the Cupertino brand's latest updates. Here's what we expect to see:

Apple Music streaming
The main news from Apple's big event is expected to be a brand new music streaming service to rival Spotify.

Apple acquired Dr Dre's Beats Audio in £1.9 billion deal in 2014, as is expected to use the existing Beats technology for a new platform that's set to take on Spotify and Jay-Z's Tidal.

Rumours suggest a monthly subscription service priced at £9.99 as well as curated playlists from the likes of Drake and Pharrell Williams.

iOS 9 to be unveiled
Apple traditionally shows off its new iPhone and iPad software at WWDC, and this year looks set to follow that pattern with the official unveiling of iOS 9.

Details are thin on the ground, but it's likely to include improved maps as well as split screen features that can already be found on Google's Android software.

The features from iOS 9 will also give hints as to what to expect from the new iPhones that are due to be announced in September.

Apple Pay UK release date
Apple's contactless payment system enables shoppers to pay for goods with their iPhone by simply tapping it on dedicated pay points in shops.

While it's already live in the US, the service hasn't yet make it over to the UK but Apple is expected to finally reveal an UK launch date at WWDC.

Mac OS X update
Apple's desktop and laptop computer software is likely to see an update, though it is expected to be relatively minor.

A new security system called Rootless is expected to land, along with a Control Centre that can be activated by swiping up on the trackpad, similar to iOS.

Apple Watch developer update
While no major announcements are expected for Apple's wearable, Tim Cook may well show off a new developer tool to help programmers build native Apple Watch apps that can run directly from the Watch, rather than via an iPhone. This is something which is rumoured to land in autumn.

What we probably won't be seeing is Apple TV. The brand's TV offering has been plagued by delays and is unlikely to arrive before 2016.
